If you've ready my other blog entries (of which there aren't many), you'll know that I'm an Indie Author working hard to achieve success by writing words! If you're reading this blog, you're either one of the people who also reads my fiction or an Indie Author (published or aspiring) like me! Whoever you are, I'm writing this blog for you, to take you on the adventure with me as I explore the vast landscape of the publishing world, learn marketing techniques and write myself into an early grave.

I've learned a lot of lessons about being an Indie Author lately, but the biggest takeaway I've got is that I can do whatever the heck I want! When I first started out I thought there were all these rules I had to be following, like "you have to write novels a certain way because otherwise no one will buy your stuff", or "you have to go traditional otherwise no one will buy your stuff".
I didn't know that eBook Authors could even HOST tours. I kind of always thought tours involved you actually going to a place, sitting down in front of real people, answering questions, reading excerpts from your book and signing autographs. But after doing a little digging I found that the exact same rituals can be followed, in digital form, entirely online - and for someone who doesn't live anywhere remotely close to... wherever her readers are... not having to pay air-fare is pretty damn awesome!
Who ever said being an Indie Author was easy? Luckily I like a challenge! The last three months of my life have been one heck of a roller-coaster. I thought (and who could blame me) that being an author meant writing... lots... and it does, but what I didn't expect was to have to call on every other skill I have in order to set up my little empire.
I don't mean to be a cliché, but October is finally here! I truly do love this month way more than any of the other months of the year - and not only because Halloween is near, but also because the world starts to creep into "cosy" mode for the impending cool months. The air is colder, blankets are warmer, the world gets wet and we struggle to keep dry. All the while, the veil between this world and the next thins... if you believe such things!
Welcome to my very first blog! I'd like to thank anyone who has decided to take time out of their busy day to read on! The thought that someone outside of immediate family/ friends is reading my words right this very second fills me with a thrill I didn't even know existed until I decided to stick my wet nose out into the world and join the rest of the pack.
